Welcome to the Orca K-8 Library!

The mission of the Orca library is to connect kids with books and help them develop their love of reading. It is also to teach students to use the library as a resource so that they will be effective users of ideas and information.

My name is Tracy Appleyard and I am the Teacher-Librarian at Orca.  All students grades K-5 come to the library once a week for forty minutes. Middle school students come during their advisory when they want to check out books, do research or just to have a quiet place to work.

    Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in being a Library Parent you are welcome to join us in the library! You can help check books in and help students find the perfect books!

If you are unable to come during your child's library time there are other ways to help support our library.  You can shelve books, organize the book collection for teachers, help process  books and many other helpful opportunities.  I'm sure we could find a good time to put you to work!

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Ms. Appleyard at tmappleyard@seattleschools.org .
