Urgent Announcement: All School Meeting - Monday, October 17th - 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Our middle school has been revitalized with the fantastic film and social justice academies, and the excitement is palpable. But just when these wonderful things are happening, the district has set in motion the process of turning Orca into a K-5. If this happens, then at the very least, our 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students will be forced to find alternative schools for next school year.

The district claims that "the Orca community has voiced concerns about the challenges of operating as a K-8 and have requested consideration to become a K-5 school." See the district's letter, here.

Is this true? Is this what the Orca community wants?

Make sure you attend this meeting to let the district know what the Orca community really wants.

This meeting will be in conjunction with the monthly PTSA general meeting. We will start with regular PTSA business, including updates on various school happenings, and then welcome the district's truncation committee to find out more about why they wanted to meet with us, and to let them know what we really want.

Childcare will be provided.
