    National African American Parent Involvement Day

    On February 16th we are inviting parents whose children who are Black, African or of mixed-race come and spend the morning with their child(ren). We will have guest speakers during our lunch segment speaking with our parents; Dr. Emile Pitre, Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, U of W and Adrian Daye, Therapeutic Health Services. Ericka Pollard, Cleveland Principal Program and Margaret Hardy, LEEP, will spend a few mo-ments speaking to parents about their child’s education success. This time is also filled with mingling, music and give-aways. Prior to lunch, our middle school students will have guest speaker in their classrooms, Steve Marshall, Adrian Daye and Jackie St. Louis.

    All parents who may be in the building dropping off their child, are welcomed to come and enjoy some goodies from our Continental Breakfast that will be available and meet and greet those parents who are participating in National African American Parent Involvement Day.

    8:15-8:55 – Continental Breakfast

    8:55 – Parents will attend class with their students

    During this time, the middle schooler students will have guest speakers in their classrooms:  Adrian Daye, Jackie St. Louis and Steve Marshall

    10:30 – Parents convene in the Library to mingle

    11:00 – Lunch
