    2020-21 High School Tours and Open House Dates
    Seattle Public Schools Open Enrollment is: February 1st-12th

    Open Enrollment window is the annual period where students may first apply to attend a different school or program next year. The form will be available on February 1st- on the SPS website. School Choice applications will be accepted through May 31, but are only eligible for priority tiebreakers if received during Open Enrollment.

    Sugiyama is committed to maintaining a small enrollment that fosters a family like atmosphere. At Sugiyama, students are successful from the beginning of their High School experience. Our Freshman class from 2019 has thrived and all students are on track with their credits!

    Teacher to Student ratio: 1:10 vs. 1:150
    Counselor to Student ratio: 1:45 vs. 1:400+
    SPED Services: Our specialist serves students at the SM1 service level
    Enrollment: Regular enrollment for incoming Freshman
    Every Thursday for transfer students
    Grading Period: Quarterly .25 credits/class
    7 classes per quarter for a total of 1.75 credits
    Total: 7 credits/year

    We serve students who prefer the option to thrive in a smaller program with more individualized attention. Upperclassmen are welcomed as transfer students, and opportunities are provided for them to participate in credit acceleration to help them complete their graduation requirements.

    We offer: Running Start; Seattle Promise; work experience credit.

    Our students actively participate in sports at their “home” Comprehensive High School.

    Virtual Open House-

    Cleveland is an option school and therefore almost all students will need to apply through the school choice form, I included an infographic below.

    We will host a virtual event at Cleveland on Saturday Feb 6th from 11:00am- 12:30pm, please advertise to students and family and have them RSVP .

      Virtual school tours-- on January 20th and February 3rd that will include admin, school counselors and other faculty to explain the workings of our school.

    Pre-Recorded Virtual School Tour Video to be shown on various dates in early February. Department heads, 9th Grade Counselor, Administration, and other key staff available.


    Interagency Academy is a small, alternative high school, with campuses spread out across Seattle, designed to engage students who need different supports than comprehensive schools offer.

    Enroll at the Interagency Columbia Center to attend new student orientation.  Start earning credit right away!

    4-day orientation sessions  start on Friday of each week. Students attend half days as follows:

    Friday through Tuesday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

    Wednesday from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm.


    • Please plan to arrive on time and stay for the entire session.  Every minute counts!

    Come see our asynchronous Virtual Open House, and explore the resources we’ve created to help you understand Nova’s beautiful education and community. Virtual Open House includes media, interviews with staff/students/principals, and resources about Nova’s program. The Q&A’s are live events with various staff and students. Principals will be at the principal office hours as well. All counselors are welcome and encouraged to come to any of the events.
